今作はコンパスをモチーフに扱った作品です。2本で機能を果たすはずのコンパスに、3本目の針を付け加えました。装飾とも新たな道具とも捉えられる曖昧な部分に、技術と芸術との差異が垣間見えます。
A stationary compass is the motif of this piece. Though a compass functions with just two parts, I added a third component with a spike at the end. The ambiguity of its purpose gives us a glimpse into the difference between science and art; is it be a decorative item or a new tool?
